Upcoming Marvel Movies

After 21 movies, Avengers: Endgame wrapped up the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2019. Since then fans across the globe have been wondering what’s next for this blockbuster franchise. Worry not because there’s more to come from Marvel Studios!

1. BLACK WIDOW

Black Widow was supposed to be released in May 2020 but got delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This film will now be released on 7th May 2021. Set after the events of the Captain America Civil War film, Black Widow follows Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) as she confronts her past of being a KGB agent and faces off against Taskmaster.

2. SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS

This movie will be released on 9th July 2021. This will be the first Marvel film with an Asian lead. Not much is known about the plot of this movie. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and will star Simu Liu as Shang-Chi.

3. THE ETERNALS

Set to be released on 5th November 2021, The Eternals is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame. The film revolves around an superpowered, immortal race of people called Eternals. It is directed by Chloé Zhao.

4. UNTITLED SPIDER-MAN SEQUEL

After the success of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home, Marvel and Sony have come to an agreement to make another movie. Set to be released on 17th December 2021, this movie will be directed by John Watts. Tom Holland as usual features as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Jamie Foxx will also appear as Max Dillon/Electro, he previously played the role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

5. THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER

Set to be released on 11th February 2022, all we know about this film is that Chris Hemsworth will star as Thor, Tessa Thompson will reprise her role as Valkyrie, and Natalie Portman will return for her role as Jane Foster. This film will be directed by Taika Waititi.

6. DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, in this movie we will see Benedict Cumberbatch return as Dr. Stephen Strange along with Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda/Scarlet Witch. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be directed by Sam Raimi and will be released on 22nd March 2022.

7. CAPTAIN MARVEL 2

After the great success of Captain Marvel in 2019, it was no surprise that we would get a sequel. It will star Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel and will be directed by Nia DaCosta. Nothing is known about the plot at the moment. Captain Marvel 2 is set to be released on 8th July 2022.
